You should interrupt the printing process after the image has been
transferred to the paper, but BEFORE the paper exits the fuser.
Remove the toner cartridge and turn it over. Pull back the shield
that covers the photosensitive drum and inspect the drum surface.
Avoiding Paper Jams
The following tips will reduce your chances of a paper jam:
• Don't load already printed pages into the paper cassette—always
use manual feed for printing the second side of two-sided
copies.
• When printing multiple pages via manual feed, wait for the
screen prompt before inserting a new sheet into the printer.
• Make sure that the paper cassette is properly loaded with one of
the recommended paper types.
