Installing the Xserve

Electrical Power Requirements

Be sure that the available circuitry and power connections are adequate for the

combined power needs of the Xserve and all other equipment in the rack. See

Appendix A for information about the electrical power requirements of the Xserve.

Make sure that the power connections for the Xserve and all other equipment are

grounded according to local and national standards.

Operating Environment

Make sure that the ambient temperature in the rack is within the limits established for

the Xserve and all other equipment. See Appendix A for the Xserve operating

temperature requirements. Make sure that both the rack itself and the room where the

rack is located are sufficiently ventilated to maintain the necessary temperature range.

Do not block

the air flowing

through the Xserve.
