Putting Your iMac to Sleep

Ifyou‘llbeawayfromyouriMacforlessthanafewdays,putittosleep.Whenyour

iMacisinsleep,itsscreenisdark.YoucanquicklywakeyouriMacandbypassthe

startupprocess.

To put your iMac to sleep, do one of the following:

Â ChooseApple()>Sleepfromthemenubar.

Â Pressthepowerbutton(®)onthebackofyouriMac.

Â ChooseApple()>SystemPreferences,clickEnergySaver,andsetasleeptimer.

Â HolddownthePlay/Pausebutton(’)ontheoptionalAppleRemotefor3seconds.

To wake your iMac from sleep, do one of the following:

Â Pressanykeyonthekeyboard.

Â Clickthemouse.

Â Pressthepowerbutton(®)onthebackofyouriMac.

Â PressanybuttonontheoptionalAppleRemote.

WhenyouriMacwakesfromsleep,yourapplications,documents,andcomputer

settingsareexactlyasyouleftthem.
