Other things you can do with the Monitors control panel

You can also use the Monitors control panel to

m arrange how multiple displays work together

m select how many colors or shades of gray each display can show

Using the Control Strip

You can also use the Control Strip to change the resolution of your display.

Conserving energy

Use the Energy Saver control panel to tell the display whether to conserve

energy after a specified period of inactivity.

You can use the control panel with your AppleVision 1710

AV Display or any

other Apple display that complies with the United States Environmental

Protection Agency’s Energy Star program. (Look for the EPA Energy Star

logo on the display box.)

Note: When you save energy, you save natural resources and reduce pollution.

Although the AppleVision 1710

AV Display contains features that automatically

save energy, you can increase the energy savings by turning the computer off

if you won’t be using it for a while—for example, overnight or over the

weekend.

To us e th e control panel, follow these steps:
